3/21—There’s Sammy Watkins and everyone else. I don’t think any two teams will value the top five to ten receivers the same way. Each one is really close to the one before him and, like the second and third tier of quarterbacks (or all the running backs), it will be “eye of beholder” for any team. It’s a very deep class though and you can pick your shots.
4/28—I will be adding more breakdowns this week. They will probably vary from the format I used for the top five and follow the format I used for the CheeseheadTV.com draft guide. Part of that is trying not to duplicate work and part of that is time—or lack thereof. I’m starting to warm to Jordan Matthews again. As I watch his games again, I think “if this guy can just learn to use his body a little more, find a bit more polish in his routes and somehow get more explosive off the line, he could be really incredible.” Could, would, should—it’s not enough to risk a high pick but I continue to like him.
